? The Matinée Opera Bus carries out-of-towners to Victoria in time for Sunday's show. It runs from the Saanich Peninsula and Nanaimo. On board, riders can watch a DVD of principal coach Robert Holliston's pre-performance lecture. Departure schedules are available at pov.bc.ca.

? The University of Victoria Libraries will also flesh out some of the history of music and Macbeth, with a small exhibit of scores, editions and adaptations of Macbeth. Janelle Jenstad, associate professor of English and assistant co-ordinating editor of the Internet Shakespeare Editions, will give a talk and hands-on tour of the materials Oct. 10 from 3: 30 to 5 p.m. in the UVic Archives and Special Collections reading room.

? The Royal Theatre will open its doors Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. for a special get-to-know-your-theatre event. Members of the POV chorus will perform a variety of pieces in different settings throughout the building. The production team will also be around for a meet-and-greet, Holliston will give a lecture on the history of opera in Victoria, and visitors can explore nooks and crannies of the theatre typically closed to the public.
