See some of the country's finest and funniest animated films - for free - in Victoria next Wednesday as the National Film Board of Canada launches its sixth edition of Get Animated! in celebration of International Animation Day.

Get Animated! is presented by the NFB in every province and territory in collaboration with local partners.

The programs, created by many of the world's top animation directors, are suitable for audiences of all ages.

Highlights include: Romance by Georges Schwizgebel, Edmond Was a Donkey by Franck Dion, Kali the Little Vampire by Régina Pessoa, Oedipus by Paul Driessen and The Lost Town of Switez by Polish filmmaker Kamil Polak.

The 65-minute program of animated shorts starts at 7 p.m. next Wednesday in the Fisher building auditorium - room 100 - at the Lansdowne campus of Camosun College, 3100 Foul Bay Rd.
