The zipline at Uptown shopping and office complex opens today with half the cost of each ticket going to a new education fund for Victoria’s Baby Iver. Riders can fly along the zipline from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily until March 23.

The cost is $10 per ride, with $5 going to an education fund for infant Iver Cohen Benson, born last month. His mother, Robyn Benson, died the next day. She had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was on life-support in hospital before her baby’s birth.

Iver’s father Dylan Benson, launched a money-raising fund for his baby. As of Thursday, it stood at $202,500. Go to youcaring.com and search for Baby Iver.

The education fund is at Scotiabank at Uptown.

AdrenaLINE Adventure Tours of Sooke is partnering with Uptown to offer the experience on 90-metre-long parallel ziplines. They will run from Blanshard level behind the elevator tower, to a site on the west side of the plaza.
