Indie bands pair up at Sugar

The Cave Singers and Poor Moon - two esteemed Pacific Northwest bands with ties to another pair of equally well-regarded acts - descend on Victoria this weekend for what should be the last truly great indie rock showcase of 2012.

The Cave Singers and Poor Moon - two esteemed Pacific Northwest bands with ties to another pair of equally well-regarded acts - descend on Victoria this weekend for what should be the last truly great indie rock showcase of 2012.

The Cave Singers, which rose from the ashes of Pretty Girls Make Graves, and Poor Moon, which features Christian Wargo and Casey Wescott of Fleet Foxes, is a doubly good pairing.

Not only are The Cave Singers and Poor Moon known for their exemplary live performances, both bands have new music to promote. The Cave Singers and Poor Moon perform at 9 p.m. Sunday at Sugar nightclub (858 Yates St.).

Tickets are $20 at Lyle's Place, Ditch Records and ticketweb.ca.
