Sidney Museum Family Day Long Weekend Activities. Come and join in the LEGO® fun with an exciting lineup of LEGO®-themed activities designed for families and kids of every age. YMCA Inside Playground with Bounce House. Head to the YMCA Westhills to enjoy a free inside playground and bounce house! YMCA Westhills, 1319 Westhills Dr., Langford. Friday, Feb. 16, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 18, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Note: Adults must bring government-issued photo ID and proof of a Langford address. langford.ca/family

Family Day Fun Walk at Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park. Celebrate Family Day weekend with a CRD Regional Parks naturalist for fun kid-friendly nature activities on a lovely roll or stroll in the park with your family! Family Day Celebration at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Families of all ages are invited to discover the exhibition Crossing: Art, History and Personal Journeys; learning about the stories of three local artists and their families who embarked on transformative journeys from Asia to Canada. Create your own collaged landscape or family portrait in graphite, or participate in an art project with one of the exhibiting artists. Museum Tots at the Maritime Museum of B.C. This weekly program introduces children ages 3-5 to the fun world of museum learning. Each week’s program revolves around a new theme, encouraging children to learn through crafts, play, song, and dance. Saturday, Feb. 17, 10:30-11:15 a.m. at the Maritime Museum of British Columbia. The Winter Arts Festival 2024 is a celebration of light, art, storytelling, sculptures, projection mapping, augmented reality, and live performances that turns Victoria into an open-air gallery. Free to attend except for 19+ events, everyone is invited downtown to enjoy new works of temporary public art popping up in unexpected places. Daily, all day, Feb. 16-19 at various locations. Cowichan Valley Museum Treasure Hunt. Join us at the museum for this free, family-friendly event. See if you can find the objects pictured in our treasure hunt booklet. B.C. Aviation Museum Open Cockpit Day. Visitors will be able to sit in the cockpits of some of the most iconic aircraft in Canadian aviation history. Family Day at Nanaimo Art Gallery. Nanaimo Art Gallery will be working in partnership with the Nanaimo African Heritage Society to celebrate February’s Black Heritage Month. Participate in a hands-on, creative activity inspired by the gallery’s annual inquiry: “What stories do we tell?” Sunday, Feb. 18, 1 p.m. at the Nanaimo Art Gallery, 150 Commercial St., Nanaimo. Family Day at Royal Athletic Park. Victoria’s Recreation Team is excited to host free family activities at Royal Athletic Park, 1014 Caledonia Ave., Monday, Feb. 19, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Enjoy bouncy castles, face painting, music, food, activities and more. Visit victoria.ca/recreation for details.

Family Day at the Royal B.C. Museum. There’s lots of fun to be had this Family Day including a free Family Day Activity Guide packed with activities and fascinating facts. Helmcken House, Mammal Learning Room, the Tidal Pool and more. FREE entry to documentary films for children, youth, students and seniors. Monday, Feb. 19. Details at royalbcmuseum.bc.ca.

Saanich Family Arts Festival. This fun-filled, free family event is a celebration of imagination, creativity and discovery. Kids of all ages can explore a wide variety of activities, and watch and listen to an array of live cultural performances. Monday, Feb. 19, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Cedar Hill Recreation and Arts Centre, 3220 Cedar Hill Rd. Free overflow parking for the event can be found in the gravel lot off of Finlayson, as well as at Doncaster Elementary. Join the Greater Victoria Police Diversity Advisory Committee for a free, family-friendly event celebrating art, culture, and diversity. Featuring Unity Dancers, Rogers/Glanford Drumming Group, Bollywood Beats Bhangra Dancers and the Veselka Ukrainian Dancers. Family Day at Esquimalt Rec. Join Esquimalt Recreation and the Esquimalt Lions for a fun time featuring hot dogs (by donation), Kindergym, the swimming pool, and a fantastic lineup of free family activities. Esquimalt Family Tree. The Esquimalt Family Tree is a collaborative craft that sees families work together to decorate a nine-foot faux birch tree as a representation of our interconnected community. Monday, Feb. 19, 9 a.m. at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre, 527 Fraser St. Details at ecah.ca.

Play Zone at City Centre Park. Get active with free access to the Play Zone at City Centre Park all day long! Play Zone is an incredible indoor gold-mine themed play structure that is a huge hit with the young ones. Pop-up arcade and board game centre. Head to the Langford Legion for a free Pop-up Game Centre with Quazar’s. NHL Street Hockey Event. Show off your skills with Canada’s favorite pastime! NHL Street is designed to keep kids active, have fun, and make new friends. The celebration will include games, a balloon artist, face painting, and a special appearance by Batman with his Batmobile. Pajama-Rama Family Day Skate. Put on your best housecoat or onesie and come on down for our Pajama-Rama Family Day Skate! This skate is jam-packed with the latest tunes and will even include a game at centre ice. Monday, Feb. 19, 12-1:20 p.m. at Panorama Recreation Arena A, 1885 Forest Park Dr., North Saanich. Regular admission rates apply. Skate rentals and helmets available. Skate shop opens 15 minutes before skating starts.

Cowichan Family Day Celebration. The Cowichan Community Centre is partnering with Cowichan Tribes to host two free skating sessions as well as free crafts and cultural activities for all ages in the Multi-Purpose Hall. We will be providing floor hockey for the family, and Vicky from Sunlit Faces will also be offering face painting. Also enjoy a Family Day Swim at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre, 2653 James St., Duncan. Ladysmith Parks, Recreation and Culture will host two free Family Day swims and gym activities at the Frank Jameson Community Centre. Special family-oriented activities and games will be facilitated in the pools and gymnasium, with a focus on family, inclusivity, physical activity and physical literacy.
