Culture on tap in Oak Bay tonight

Oak Bay Village will be alive with culture tonight for the ninth annual Art on the Avenue Gallery Walk and Ottavio Tasting Evening. Shops and galleries throughout Oak Bay Village will open their doors between 6 and 8 p.m.

Shops and galleries throughout Oak Bay Village will open their doors between 6 and 8 p.m. to feature artists in attendance, special receptions, evening shopping and seasonal treats.

Winchester Galleries is opening a show that evening featuring Gabriola artist Jeff Molloy's The Adventures of Jack Pine and Jeremy Herndl's Speaking Space.

Eclectic Gallery is presenting an artists' reception for the fourth annual Small Works show, featuring 90 works by 17 Victoria artists, including Pat Martin Bates, Desiree Bond and Allison Brodie.

Artistic Statement Gallery will feature paintings and prints by Joan Hill as well as a variety of silk scarves printed from paintings.

The gallery walk also includes exhibitions from Side Street Studio, Red Art Gallery and The Avenue Gallery.

For foodies, Ottavio Italian Deli is holding its annual Christmas open house featuring Italian candies, seasonal specialties and hot roasted chestnuts.

And the annual Dig This open house from 5 to 8 p.m. features hot apple cider and specialty cheese from Chiarelli's.

Public Boutique, Oak Bay Flower Shop and Gallery and Ivy's Books are also offering specials during the evening.
