Michael C. Hall of Dexter fame has bought a restored home in Los Feliz for $3.825 million.
The updated 1920s Spanish Colonial and guesthouse have killer views of the surrounding hillsides and cityscape. Features include archways, beam ceilings, wrought-iron work, French doors and wood floors. There are six bedrooms, six bathrooms and more than 5,600 square feet of living space. The gated grounds contain a swimming pool.
Hall, 42, has starred as the murder-minded main character on Dexter since 2006. Before that, he was on HBO’s funeral-home drama Six Feet Under (2001-05). The final season of Dexter starts at the end of the month. The turnkey property previously sold a year ago for $2.09 million, public records show.
KATY PERRY DIDN’T LET PAIR GET AWAY
Singer Katy Perry has bought two adjacent homes in Hollywood Hills West for $11 million. The compound, if that’s how she intends to use the properties, has about four acres of land, two swimming pools and two guesthouses.
One property contains a Spanish-style house built in the 1950s with three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and 3,884 square feet of living space.
The other is a midcentury modern-style glass-walled house with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,916 square feet of space. Neither house was on the Multiple Listing Service.
Perry, 28, is set to release a new album this summer. Among her previous albums are One of the Boys (2008) and Teenage Dream (2010).
GABOR ESTATE GETS NEW OWNER
Zsa Zsa Gabor’s longtime Bel-Air estate has sold for $11 million in a court-approved deal that will enable the ailing actress to remain in the home for three years.
The French Regency-style mansion, used as the setting of the Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra, sits on a one-acre-plus gated promontory with views of downtown Los Angeles, Santa Catalina Island and the ocean.
The 28-room home, built in 1955, has a formal sitting room with an antique French fireplace, an oversized dining room with city views, a butler’s pantry off the kitchen, six bedrooms and seven bathrooms in 8,878 square feet of living space.
Former residents include Howard Hughes and Elvis Presley. Gabor bought the house in 1973 for $280,000.
Her scores of TV and film appearances include a starring role in Moulin Rouge (1952) and guest appearances on The Hollywood Squares in the 1960s and ’70s and The New Hollywood Squares in the ’80s.
ACTOR LISTS HER WEDDING SITE
Actor Drew Barrymore and her husband, art consultant William Kopelman, have listed the Montecito estate where they were wed at $7.5 million.
The 1937 traditional-style house sits on more than two acres with mature trees, lawns and a cupola-topped guesthouse. A gravel motor court leads to the brick entry terrace of the 6,258-square-foot house. Features include a foyer with staircase, a paneled living room, a library-study, six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.
Barrymore, 38, gained recognition for her role as Gertie in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982. Among her film credits are Big Miracle (2012), 50 First Dates (2004) and Charlie’s Angels (2000).
The actress bought the property last year for $5.705 million.
SHE’S WHISPERING IN THE PALISADES
Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt has bought a house in Pacific Palisades for $3.25 million.
Built in 2007, the contemporary wood, glass and steel house has an open plan, high ceilings, four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and 5,634 square feet of living space. There is a swimming pool, a fire pit, an outdoor flat-screen TV and two patios.
Hewitt, 34, starred in the supernatural drama Ghost Whisperer from 2005 to 2010 and has starred as a single mother and masseuse in the Lifetime network series The Client List since last year.
CHER ADDS NOTCH IN HER TOOL BELT
It doesn’t hurt to have a rock-star mom who is into houses when it comes to real estate.
A Venice house held in Cher’s trust has sold for $1.95 million.
The remodelled contemporary went into escrow nine days after coming on the market and sold for $100,000 above the original asking price.
The hip pad, reportedly the home of one of her children, features high ceilings, sliding-glass walls, two fireplaces and an outdoor shower — a feature Cher favours.
A rooftop deck has a built-in barbecue, sink and refrigerator. There are three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
The property previously sold three years ago for $1,542,500, public records show.
The 67-year-old superstar got a leg up as part of the 1960s duo Sonny and Cher and went on to win an Oscar for her starring role in Moonstruck (1987). She has an estate in Malibu.
