Victoria High School has embarked on an ambitious $6.5-million fundraising drive to renovate and upgrade the school’s stadium and track, which have suffered from six and a half decades of wear and tear, as well as the weather.
The plan is to implement the revitalization project in four stages with the installation of lights and an all-weather playing field in the initial phase. A fieldhouse is planned for the second stage, followed by an eight-lane track in the third stage and major stadium upgrades in the final stage.
Those wishing to support the school and project may do so by sending a cheque to the Victoria High School Alumni Association, which is spearheading the fundraising effort.
The cheque, with a notation on the memo line of “track/stadium project,” should be sent to or dropped off at Vic High. The mailing address is VHS Alumni Association, 1260 Grant St., Victoria, B.C., V8T 1C2.
