MONTREAL — Two adults in their 20s and a person in their 70s have died after a crash in Quebec's Eastern Townships.

First responders were called late Saturday to the site of a collision near Bury, Que., about 160 kilometres east of Montreal.

A spokesman for Quebec provincial police says the car carrying the two younger adults left its lane and crashed head-on with the other vehicle.

A 23-year-old driver, her 24-year-old passenger and the 70-year-old driver of the second vehicle were taken to hospital, where they were later declared dead.

Quebec provincial police say they're not sure what caused the collision, and are investigating along with the coroner.

Route 108 was closed to traffic for several hours before reopening early Sunday morning.
