Any gardener in Victoria knows these days of abundant rain will eventually give way to long days of sunshine. Savvy gardeners prepare by installing irrigation systems to keep their plants happy.
The City of Victoria is offering a workshop on irrigation systems for homeowners. The three-hour course will explain how the various types of systems work, how to monitor water pressure and complete minor repairs.
People will also be shown how to prevent damage and disease caused by overwatering plants and lawns.
The workshop costs $25 and pre-registration is required. It runs 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the City of Victoria parks yard, located next to the new children’s playground in Beacon Hill Park (just off Cook Street).
