Local authors Price, Stevenson win B.C. book prizes

In his new novel, Lampedusa, Steven Price wanted to explore the what-ifs and why-nots many authors feel while writing a book.

Victoria authors Steven Price and Robin Stevenson were victorious at this year’s B.C. & Yukon Book Prizes.

Price, who took home the Ethel Wilson Prize for Fiction for his novel, Lampedusa, and Stevenson, who won the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize for My Body, My Choice: The Fight for Abortion Rights, were honoured at the 36th annual event, which recognizes the annual achievements of BC and Yukon authors and publishers.

The online gala was hosted by University of Victoria chancellor Shelagh Rogers.
