An expanded North American tour by Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters will stop in Victoria this year, it has been announced.

The Grammy Award-winning rock group will visit Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on Oct. 3. The Foos’ inaugural Victoria performance was one of 10 additional dates added to their itinerary Monday, along with appearances in Penticton (Oct. 1) and Vancouver (Oct. 5).

Singer-guitarist Grohl, the former Nirvana drummer, and bandmates Nate Mendel (bass), Pat Smear (guitar), Taylor Hawkins (drums), Chris Shiflett (guitar), and Rami Jaffee (keyboards) are touring to support Medicine at Midnight, their 10th studio album. Grohl has not performed in Victoria since March 9, 1991, when Nirvana played the former Forge nightclub in the Strathcona Hotel.

Tickets for the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre show are $129 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through selectyourtickets.com. They can also be purchased through the box office at 250-220-7777.
