Protesters are preparing their placards, security is being tightened and Hollywood's hair salons are fully booked. TV's biggest night looms: The 64th Prime time Emmy Awards are Sunday, and host broadcaster ABC hopes to whet the audience's appetite with tonight's 20/20 two-hour special, the self-explanatory, if somewhat awkwardly titled, Best in TV: The Greatest TV Shows of Our Time, hosted by Barbara Walters.

Often an excuse to trot out old clips and interview surviving stars of yesterday, these types of specials never turn out to be as memorable as one would hope, but they do make good conversation-starters.

The Greatest TV Shows of Our Time will feature no-brainers such as best TV comedy and drama, best legal and/or cop show, favourite TV mom and TV dad, best talk-show host, best non-human character and best TV show of all time.

The choices are apt to be obvious, as hinted by scheduled interviewees Desi Arnaz Jr., Lucie Arnaz and Keith Thibodeaux from I Love Lucy.

ABC, 9 p.m.
