New Mercedes exceeds expectations

The newly-redesigned 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 350 with the BlueTEC diesel is the quietest diesel-powered vehicle I have ever driven - it's even quieter than my gasoline-powered BMW X1.

The newly-redesigned 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 350 with the BlueTEC diesel is the quietest diesel-powered vehicle I have ever driven - it's even quieter than my gasoline-powered BMW X1.

With 445 foot-pounds of torque it is actually quicker 0 to 100 km/h than the gasoline-powered version - and it has a 210 km/h top speed.

Quality of the cabin materials is also high. I thought the  standard vinyl seats were actually leather.

The new M-Class incorporates state-of-the-art safety systems, with a choice of active or passive Attention Assist and Lane Keep Assist.
