Expect to see more than a few examples of MGBs this Sunday at the 18th annual English Car Affair in the Park Weekend at Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site. The event is hosted by the Old English Car Club, South Island Branch.

The MGB is the featured marque at this year's show. This iconic English sports car was introduced to the public in 1962 - 50 years ago. More than 512,000 were produced by the time production ended in 1980.

The MGs, both the convertible and the hardtop MGB GT, will be joined by more than 100 British classic cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles with marques such as Austin, Aston Martin, Commer, Consul, Jaguar, Land Rover, Morris, Mini, Triumph, Rover Sunbeam, Vauxhall and Zephyr.

Many of the MGs and other British vehicles on display on Sunday were sold in Victoria from the 1940s through the '70s.

Apart from the display of cars, there will be entertainment, automobilia displays and activities for the whole family.

Regular admission to Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site applies. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at 630 Fort Rodd Hill Rd., Colwood.
