Jean & Harry

Roses are red, violets are blue, 66 years together, their love is true.

Harry was a dashing teacher from Yorkshire whose plans for world travels ended in 1956 when he stopped to teach for a year in Kitimat and was enticed to stay after sweeping Jean, a naive 19 year old from Burnaby, off her feet. They married on April 25, 1957 and before they knew it had four young children. Always keen for variety, they taught in Yorkshire, England, Burnaby, Bridge River, Kelowna, Sooke and Sidney B.C., plus a year in Nowra, NSW, Australia. Following retirement from teaching, Jean also initiated and together they ran a successful children's book business for ten years. With children and grandchildren now living around the world, Jean and Harry have long settled into their comfortable retired lives. 66 years later we continue to celebrate the love and strong values that first brought them together, and, despite some health challenges along the way, hope for more rewarding time together.

With love always from Lawrence, Jennifer, Donald and Catherine,

and grandchildren David, Jasper, Fergus, Lucy, Sam and Ava.
