Alex Zimmerman, owner of Applied Green Consulting, has received the 2012 Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of B.C. TechGREEN Individual Award for his leading role in positive impacts on green living, sustainable best practices, energy conservation and environmental benefit. Zimmerman joined B.C. Buildings Corporation in 1991 to manage energy retrofits, and developed direct digital control systems for B.C. Hydro, colleges and universities and he was the founding president and CEO of the Canada Green Building Council in 2003. Zimmerman has been running Applied Green Consulting since 2006, assisting public and private clients with green building programs.
