Web companies tie the knot

Victoria-based web firms Caorda Web Solutions and Sage Internet Solutions are merging.

Victoria-based web firms Caorda Web Solutions and Sage Internet Solutions are merging. The combined company, which has more than 800 clients and 17 staff members, said it will be able to increase services, including web design and strategy, software development, as well as Canadian hosting solutions. In the new organization, services for small-business web design, ecommerce, online marketing and social media will be delivered under the Sage Web Strategy + Design division. Caorda Web Solutions will focus on application development and hosting. All staff have been kept and operations consolidated at 1003550 Saanich Rd. "Sage's knowledge in open-source software and WordPress are a great complement to Caorda's expertise in ASP .NET custom web application development," said Paul Johnston, Caorda president and founder.

Michael Stevulak, founder of Sage, said the merger provides businesses with a "compelling solution for creative web design, responsive mobile web sites, software development and custom hosting services."
