Williams Companies says it has a new long-term contract to process natural gas liquids recovered as a byproduct of oilsands near Fort McMurray, Alta. The U.S. company says it plans to build a new processing plant and infrastructure at the producer's upgrader and extend its Boreal pipeline to its Redwater facility outside of Edmonton. Williams says the mixture it pipes to Redwater from the upgrader will be processed into numerous petrochemicals such as ethane, propane and butane. The project will cost $500 million and $600 million.
