Tourism board adds directors

Alan McGillivray, founder and owner of Prince of Whales whale-watching company, Nanaimo accountant Jenn Bogwald and Geoff Millar, economic development manager for the Cowichan Valley Regional District, are new board members at Tourism Vancouver Island. Other members of the tourism advocacy and marketing group include Jim Owens, Tigh-Na-Mara Resort in Parksville; Duane Bell, Middle Beach Lodge in Tofino; Conny Nordin, Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa on Galiano Island; Michael O'Hara, April Point Resort & Spa on Quadra Island; and Lillian Hunt, U'mista Cultural Society in Alert Bay. Meanwhile, Carol Ann Terreberry of Tsa-Kwa-Luten Lodge on Quadra Island, returns as chair for a second year, while consultant Chuck Fast continues as past chair of the board. Stephen Peters, GM of Pacific Sands Beach Resort in Tofino was elected as vice-chair. Ian MacPhee, owner of Abbey-moore Manor Bed & Breakfast Inn in Victoria, continues as director for Tourism Victoria.
