On the Street: Condo accepts home deliveries

Condo residents at Bosa Properties’ Promontory development at Bayview Place can now receive grocery deliveries while they are out or at work. The “BosaFresh” room — about 150 square feet of cold storage space — opened last week.

Condo residents at Bosa Properties’ Promontory development at Bayview Place can now receive grocery deliveries while they are out or at work. The “BosaFresh” room — about 150 square feet of cold storage space — opened last week.

“There’s not a huge market for this yet, but that’s starting to change. We are going to be putting these into all of our buildings,” said Bosa properties senior vice-president Daryl Simpson. “If you live in a condo, it’s been a challenge to have groceries delivered if you’re not home.”

At Promontory, the concierge will accept the delivery and store it in the cold room. Only residents who have registered to be part of the program will have access to the room.

Bosa has teamed up with Sustainable Produce Urban Delivery (SPUD.com) to provide access to the purpose-built facility in its condo towers.

Island, Scottish colleges linked

North Island College has signed an agreement with Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, that will give business administration students enhanced degrees. Students have the option to take their first two years at NIC, transfer to RGU for their third year and return to NIC to complete their fourth year.

“NIC students may now study at the U.K.’s top university for graduate employment outcomes, gain international experience, perspectives and contacts, and then return to NIC to complete their education, receiving degrees from both North Island College and Robert Gordon University,” said Mark Herringer, NIC director of international education.
