Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney and B.C. Premier Christy Clark are the headline speakers at the sixth annual State of the Island Economic Summit next month in Nanaimo. Carney will deliver the opening address and Clark is the keynote speaker during the Oct. 15-16 event that will cover everything from infrastructure and transportation on the Island to sustainable energy, agriculture and the future of forestry. Past summits have attracted a range of interests, including youth, First Nations, builders, political and business leaders, small businesses and technology entrepreneurs.
