The long-awaited Oak Bay Beach Hotel opened on Thursday, but there's no room at the $52-million inn - at least this weekend.

The grand waterfront property has booked all 100 rooms and 20 luxury suites to guests. The hotel is full tonight, Saturday and Sunday, but there should be openings as early as Monday.

The David Foster Foundation Theatre, offering dinner theatre and movies, opens tonight. A play, entitled Celebration: A New Beginning, is sold out for that performance, but tickets are available for Saturday evening and a Sunday matinee.

Meanwhile, the Snug Pub is on schedule to open on Dec. 1, although a spokesman said it may have a soft opening before the end of this month.

The extensive spa operations are also set to open Dec. 1 as owners Kevin and Shawna Walker play host to a "community celebration" and official opening from noon to 4: 30 p.m.

Kate's Café opened in the hotel last month.

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel was taken apart six years ago and a new version was originally set to reopen in 2009, but that was delayed by the global economic meltdown.

The new hotel features many of the old hotel's former timbers and fixtures, including the original fireplace in its grand lobby.
