New executive for merged builders group

Chris Erb of C&M Developments is the new chairman of the Vancouver Island Construction Association - and the first since industry groups in Victoria and Nanaimo officially merged operations.

Chris Erb of C&M Developments is the new chairman of the Vancouver Island Construction Association - and the first since industry groups in Victoria and Nanaimo officially merged operations.

Erb's appointment followed the group's first annual general meeting in Nanaimo, where executives says the newly integrated VICA has allowed cross-island communication and representation on key industry issues, services and education. VICA will maintain offices in Victoria and Nanaimo.

Nanaimo-based Erb succeeds Kinetic Construction's Peter White and will be joined on the new executive by vice-chairman Angus Macpherson of Cairnview Mechanical; treasurer Don Cameron of G&E Contracting and secretary Sheldon Saywell of Saywell Contracting. The board directors include Marlon Brown, Cornerstone Tile; Alan Fletcher, AFC Construction; Dave Flint, Flynn Canada; Anthony Minniti, Century Group; Todd Skelton, Independent Concrete; Scott Torry, Torry & Sons Plumbing & Heating; Ger-rit Vink, Farmer Construction; and Roger Yager, Knappett Projects.
