Organizers of the Leadership Victoria Awards are accepting nominations for outstanding citizens in several categories - and they're making it easier this year by providing nomination forms online.
"The VLAs are a little like Victoria's Academy Awards for community leadership and just like the Oscars we continue to build upon a legacy of success," said chair Kate Mansell. "This year we are launching a brand new [electronic] form that can be completed entirely online that should help make the nominations process easier. Our aim is to recognize the very best of the passionate and caring individuals who work tirelessly to make Victoria a strong and vibrant community."
The awards have been honouring inspired leadership in the community since 2005. Nominations will be accepted until Nov. 30. The awards will be held Feb. 25 at the Fairmont Empress hotel.
The categories include:

? The Rotary Community Leadership Awards.
? The Vancity Youth Award
? The Leadership Victoria Alumni Award
? The Leadership Victoria Lifetime Achievement Award
? The Victoria Foundation Community Leadership Award
? The United Way of Greater Victoria Award
? The Royal Roads University Leadership Excellence through Coaching and Mentoring Award
