Ericsson buys Toronto firm

Swedish wireless equipment maker Ericsson says it is acquiring Toronto-based software company ConceptWave in an all-cash transaction for an unspecified price.

Swedish wireless equipment maker Ericsson says it is acquiring Toronto-based software company ConceptWave in an all-cash transaction for an unspecified price. Ericsson said it will buy all the shares of ConceptWave, an order management software firm that was founded in 2000 and has a staff of 170. The Swedish company said the acquisition will complement its operations and business support systems, especially for network operators. The purchase is part of Ericsson's turn from falling sales of network infrastructure to focus on the more stable - but less profitable - business of offering support to operators.
