Pat Fafard, who retired as general manager of the Peninsula Co-op earlier this year and has been credited with turning the co-operative into a retail powerhouse in the region over the past several decades, will receive a lifetime achievement award from the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce on Thursday night at Butchart Gardens. The Sidney-based chamber will honour Fafard as part of its sixth annual Crystal Awards for Business Excellence, which recognizes the outstanding achievements of businesses, and the leaders behind their success.
