The owners of a Burns Lake sawmill that was flattened in an explosion earlier this year say they intend to rebuild.
Steve Zika, CEO of the mill's owner Hampton Affiliates, announced the decision in the tiny northern B.C. community, saying they're extremely excited about the plan for a new mill.
However, Zika says the entire rebuilding process is still contingent on negotiating a timber-supply agreement with the provincial government.
Zika says the new mill will be smaller than the original that was destroyed last January, but it will have state-of-the-art technology. -
