Bombardier Transportation has won a five-year contract valued at $92 million US for a mass-transit-train control system in Malaysia and another worth $64 million US for new trains in Europe. The Malaysian contract will see Bombardier build a transit control system for a line being built in Klang Valley. It includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the communications-based train control, including 31 stations and onboard equipment for 58 trains plus 16 maintenance vehicles. In Europe, Deutsche Bahn AG has ordered five new double-deck trains. The new order is part of a framework agreement signed in 2008.
