The Path Home

The 2nd in the current series of Building the Future talks will be on Saturday evening, November 5th with Deloria Bighorn, who will present the 30-minute film, The Path Home: Reflections on Truth and Reconciliation

We’re honoured to have Deloria, a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Canada, as our speaker.

Deloria is passionate about the message of this film, commissioned by the National Spiritual Assembly to honour the work of those who contributed to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.  At its release in Ottawa, she said in her role of MC, “Unity among the Aboriginal peoples, unity with the rest of Canadian society and unity with all the peoples of the world are vital if justice and social well-being are to be assured.”

From Vancouver to Montreal, elders and youth, the individuals in this moving film spoke from their hearts and entrusted their stories to the movement towards unity.

The presentation will take place in the Auditorium (entrance off parking lot), Cook St. Activity Centre, 380 Cook St., followed by discussion and refreshments. Doors open at 6:40 p.m.; the talk will begin at 7 p.m. Parking is limited so guests are requested to arrive in time to find street parking if necessary, and be seated.

Please pass along this invitation to those who may be interested. A poster is attached. There is no charge; this event is sponsored by the Bahá'í community of Victoria.
