VANCOUVER — Eight women who provided care for a disabled Vancouver psychiatrist allege that he told them to perform inappropriate sex acts for him.

Seven were hired as personal-care aides by Dr. John Allan James Christensen and one was hired as a live-in caregiver.

Christensen, 75, who has been a quadriplegic for 20 years, advertised the positions on Craigslist and UBC CareersOnline.

Christensen, who practised psychiatry for decades but is listed as “temporarily inactive” by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.. The allegations date from 2011 to this year.

Many of the women claim in the lawsuits filed in B.C. Supreme Court that he asked them to squeeze his testicles or penis to relieve pain. — Vancouver Sun
