METRO VANCOUVER - The Dewdney bridge in Mission has reopened to traffic after being closed for four days for repairs.

METRO VANCOUVER - The Dewdney bridge in Mission has reopened to traffic after being closed for four days for repairs.

A single lane of alternating traffic was opened on the bridge early Monday morning, and drivers are being told to expect minor delays.

The bridge over Nicomen Slough was closed early last Thursday after maintenance crews noticed a dip that had caused the road deck to buckle.

About 16,500 vehicles travel over the bridge on a daily basis, and it is the main link between Mission and Harrison Hot Springs on the north side of the Fraser River to communities such as Deroche, Harrison Mills, Hemlock Resort, Agassiz, and several First Nation reserves.
