Vancouver police say shortly after 9 p.m., officers received several calls about gunshots on Seaforth Drive near Rupert Street.

Police arrived and found a 20-year-old man dead on the side of the road.

VPD spokesman Const. Brian Montague says the victim is known to police and was on bail at the time of his death on a charge of manslaughter.

He says the name of the victim is not being released until family has been notified.

Investigators will be speaking with witnesses and canvassing for video.

No arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, the death of a 15-year-old boy in East Vancouver on Sunday has been deemed a homicide.

A family member found Jason Nguyen suffering from serious injuries in a home on East 24th Avenue Sunday afternoon. He was rushed to hospital, but did not survive.

Investigators believe the slaying was targeted, but have released little other information about the attack.

Nguyen’s death marks the city’s ninth murder of the year.
