VANCOUVER — A skateboarder died Friday after a collision with a semi-trailer truck near the Queensborough Bridge in New Westminster.
The incident occurred at 1:30 p.m, at a crosswalk underneath the Queensborough Connector, police said.
The victim was taken to hospital, but died of his injuries.
Investigators with the New Westminster Police Department are trying to determine whether the skateboarder was attempting to cross the street or simply near the crosswalk at the time of the collision. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and co-operated with police.
