A North Vancouver man who found a drunk stranger snoozing in his bed responded in what might be the most Canadian way possible – by offering him another one, instead.

A YouTube clip (youtube.com/watch?v=xvKgw1NnJJ4), which has been viewed more than 1.3 million times since it began making the rounds on social media over the weekend, shows a man arriving home to find an apparently drunk stranger snoozing soundly in his bed.

Throughout the interaction, which becomes exceedingly polite, the cameraman laughs as the drunk man asserts that the bed is actually his.

According to Reddit users claiming to know the bed’s true owner – and this has yet to be verified by The Province – the two-and-a-half minute video was shot inside a house in North Vancouver.

“You’re in the completely wrong house, you’ve never seen me before in your life,” the cameraman says after asking the drunk man if he knows where he is.

“I really just want to go to sleep, so–” the confused drunk man says before rolling over to crash.

The drunk man then says he knows the cameraman’s brother and repeatedly claims to own and “pay taxes” for the bed.

“You're in my bed,” asserts the chuckling cameraman.

“Man, you’re going to be so rattled tomorrow morning when you wake up and realize what an a—hole you are,” he says, before offering to let him sleep in another bed in the house.

The cameraman pulls a blanket off the drunk man and rouses him from the bed for a tour of the house.

It’s then that the drunk man comes to realize his mistake.

He had once lived in the house and simply returned there after his night of revelry, forgetting he’d since moved.

“Oh man, this is so weird,” he says, as the blunder dawns on him.

“You just walked into the wrong house?” the camerman asks. “This is amazing.”

The cameraman again offers the drunk man a bed, which he seems to accept before the men exhange farewells and the video ends.

According to a post Monday by reddit user kl4ssy, the exchange went down in North Vancouver:

“Kind of late to the party but here’s the deal with the video. The dude who owns the house is named Jordan - he’s from North Vancouver, Canada. He just got hooked up with a house that he shares with like 4 buddies.

"One night this dude showed up. There’s always something happening at his house and plenty of crashing spots lol. The funny thing is, this house is pretty far away from everything and North (Vancouver) isn’t really a college town. This isn’t just an obvious house to walk in to and crash, this place is tucked away among a sea of elderly peoples houses.

"But shout out to Jordan for keepin’ his cool and making a funny video out of it. Source: I party with these dudes lol.”

Reddit user mein2d, who claims to live in Vancouver, said the man filming the video is a friend’s older brother, adding that the video was first posted to Facebook a couple of weeks ago.
