A snowfall warning has been issued for the Fraser Canyon and the Coquihalla Highway, with up to 25 centimetres expected in some areas Tuesday.

A snowfall warning has been issued for the Fraser Canyon and the Coquihalla Highway, with up to 25 centimetres expected in some areas Tuesday.

Environment Canada says the snow will begin Tuesday morning and then become heavy at times by the evening from Hope to Merritt.

The agency says a moist frontal system will also bring up to 20 centimetres of snow to southern sections of the Fraser Canyon through Tuesday night.

The snow is forecast to end by Wednesday morning as the frontal system moves out of the area.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow, the agency warns, adding that weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
