CRD warns swimmers to avoid Oak Bay, Saanich beaches due to wastewater overflows

Heavy rain caused combined stormwater and wastewater overflows along some shorelines in Greater Victoria on Sunday.

Because the wastewater may pose a health risk, residents are being advised to avoid going into the water around between Tarn Place in Oak Bay and Seaview Road in Saanich including Cadboro Bay, as well as between Radcliffe Lane and Trafalgar Park including McNeil Bay in Oak Bay.

The Capital Regional District will post public health advisory at beaches within the affected area until sample results indicate enterococci levels are below what is considered the recreational limit.
