What’s your vision for your community in 25 years?

Controlled growth, live work and play in Colwood, community nodes, Following the community plan.

What’s one “big idea” you have for your community?

Seniors suffer more evictions and experience more homelessness than their younger counterparts due to financial limitations, my big idea is to kill two birds with one stone by building a new, or updating the city hall AND providing seniors affordable housing.

The current city hall is older and it appears will need more repairs and updating. Also, It is expected that housing for seniors will need to be increased as more Babyboomers age out of single family homes. My thought is; perhaps we could replace the city hall and build a new green building with the City Hall on the main level and seniors affordable housing above. (Or maintain the current building and build a small building for seniors building). The roof top would be used as a food/therapy garden and a place to attract pollinators and the empty meeting rooms during the day in City Hall could be used for exercise groups. I see this idea of adding seniors affordable housing as a positive and integral part of our future as an aging population.
