A quartet of young Tri-City bowlers will be in Ottawa, Ont., and Gatineau, Que., this week, May 6 to 8, to compete for national championships.

Jayden Allgaier, 19, leads the team of bowlers based out of PoCo Bowl. He’ll be competing win the senior boys single division.

Colton Catterall, 14, will compete in the junior boys single division while Elias Finlayson, 10, and Cole Madaski, 8, will be in the bantam boys team division.

The single bowlers are coached by Bruce Catterall while the team bowlers are guided by Trevor Noble.

While Allgaier and Catterall had already earned their way to nationals, Finlayson and Madaski qualified when they won the provincial championship in February.

They’ll be among 162 bowlers from across Canada competing for the most prestigious titles in the five-pin game. The event has been held annually since 1965.
