Indigenous Films

The City Centre and Poirier branches of the Coquitlam Public Library will screen multiple films and documentaries from noon to 4:30 p.m. as part of the organization’s Indigenous Film Festival. All ages are welcome; however,  some flicks cover sensitive topics, so viewer discretion is advised.

Youth Art

Youth ages 13 to 18 can join artists and collaborators Sandeep Johal and Sara Khan for a two-session art-making workshop at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam (1205 Pinetree Way). The session from 4 to 6 p.m. will see participants' artwork on display at the Coquitlam Public Library in October. Materials and snacks will be provided for the youth participants. The event is free; however, registration is required.

Mariner Rebrand

Coquitlam's only microbrewery, Mariner Brewing, will launch its new brand, beer labels and beer names at a unveiling at 5 p.m. in the taproom (H01100 Lansdowne Dr.)

Karaoke Night

Almost Famous Entertainment hosts an open karaoke night at the Royal Canadian Legion branch in Port Coquitlam (2675 Shaughnessy St.) starting at 6:30 p.m. Membership is not required; however, entry is $2.

Legion Music

Flash Back performs at the Royal Canadian Legion branch in Coquitlam (1025 Ridgeway Ave.) at 7 p.m. A cover charge is applied to non-members; however, there is no entry fee on Saturday nights.

Stand-up Comedy

Jokers Canada is bringing professional stand-up comics to Port Moody with a touring production, which starts at 8 p.m. at the Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Dr., Port Moody). Tickets are now on sale for the 19+ event.
