In order to accommodate delivery of essential fuels for customers on Texada Island, due to Wednesday’s cancelled dangerous goods sailing, BC Ferries has added a sailing from Westview Terminal (Powell River) on Saturday, April 20.

No other passengers will be permitted to travel on the 1:45 pm sailing as it is designated for Dangerous Goods. This sailing is not expected to affect the regular scheduled sailings between Westview (Powell River) and Blubber Bay (Texada), according to BC Ferries.

"Safety is our top priority, all dangerous goods are required to be securely packaged and transported, and identifiable through approved labelling," stated BC Ferries in an announcement on April 19.
