The Richmond company honoured as this year’s hall of famers were The Great Little Box Company, which has been operating for nearly 40 years.

A multiple recipient of the chamber’s Workplace of the Year Business Excellence Award, they were singled out as a “true leader not only within the Richmond business community, but across Canada.”

Opening in 1982 with a 5,000 sq/ft plant and only three employees, the early ‘80s were a challenge for business operators as a whole, and this company was no different.

In fact, their first month of operations saw revenue of only $8,000 and a net loss of more than $18,000, but they successfully persevered by establishing themselves as an innovator in their industry and focusing on customer service.

Through multiple acquisitions and a focus on growth and superior customer service, The Great Little Box Company has developed into a one-source supplier for packaging and labelling needs.

With long-standing roots in the Richmond business community, the company expanded in 2006 and made their new manufacturing facility and head office here in Richmond.

And their decades of cultural and workplace awards are a testament to the care and investment that the company puts into their people.
