Get ready for delays if you’re driving on Ladner Trunk Road this week.
Crews will be undertaking repaving work from 57th Street to Highway 17A from Aug. 15 to 20. The work is scheduled to take place from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
According to the city’s engineering department, two-way traffic will be maintained at all times, while the noise generated is to be moderate.
During a council discussion on Monday on the waiving of the noise bylaw to accommodate the work, engineering director Steven Lan acknowledged there are many residences in the area. It’s challenging to do work on major roadways that are heavily used during the daytime hours and doing the work in the day would cause a major disruption.
Nearby residents can expect to hear five nights’ worth of grinding sounds and beeping.
