The Delta fire department’s new mascot now has a name thanks to a Grade 2 student from Cougar Canyon Elementary.
It was back in October when the department ran a Name the Mascot contest at elementary schools across the city as part of National Fire Prevention Week. It was Theo Wong from Mr. Barbeau’s class that came up with the winning name.
The entry earned him and his classmates a pizza party last week, courtesy of Pango, along with a special visit from Flash and Delta firefighters.
The department thanks all those who participated in the contest.
