Celebrate the end of summer and raise funds for BC & Alberta Guide Dogs at the inaugural charity Motorcycle Poker Run.
BC & Alberta Guide Dogs is introducing this fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 1, bringing together motorcyclists from around the province and riding throughout the Fraser Valley. Participants draw a playing card at each of the five Royal Canadian Legion stops along the route and compete for the top three poker hands (as well as the worst hand).
The $50 registration includes a poker run card, pancake breakfast at Ladner Legion and a finish-line celebration at Tsawwassen Legion with a barbecue lunch, games, music, puppies-in-training and great prizes.
The event will help raise funds to help BC & Alberta Guide Dogs provide guide dogs for people who are visually impaired, autism support dogs for children with profound autism and PTSD service dogs for military and RCMP veterans living with post-traumatic stress. These certified guide and service dogs are provided at no cost to recipients, along with training and aftercare support. To fund these programs, the organization relies on donations and proceeds from its fundraising events.
Registration is available by calling 604-940-4504 or at www.bcandalbertaguidedogs.com.
