It’s time to score a touchdown against hunger.
The B.C. Lions and Purolator are inviting football fans to help their local food bank by bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to the Lions game on Oct. 5, when B.C. hosts the Toronto Argonauts at BC Place.
Donations will be used to help stock the Vancouver and Surrey food banks. Last year, the effort, called Purolator Tackle Hunger initiative, collected more than 22,000 pounds of food.
Fans will have an opportunity to have their photo taken with the Grey Cup and possibly win a signed Mike Reilly jersey. Former Lions quarterback Travis Lulay will be on site to take photos with fans who make donations.
