The B.C. Bears, who include Burnaby Lake's Bryce Worden, regrouped after losing the first game of a two-game series with the Prairie Wolf Pack, roaring to a 54-12 victory and an aggregate decision of 60-50.

Three members of the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club were part of the B.C. Bears roster that delivered a dominating performance in a 54-12 victory over the Prairie Wolf Pack in Kelowna on Saturday.

It was the second match of a two-game aggregate series, which saw the Bears overcome a 32-point deficit after the opening game to triumph 60-50 overall.

Although the Wolf Pack struck first on Saturday, B.C. replied on Travis Larsen’s try, followed by Brock Staller’s convert that deadlocked the game 7-7.

Burnaby Lake’s Reid Watkins propelled the Bears into the lead for the first time by diving underneath the posts, while Thomas Isherwood passed it to Cillian Ansbro to cap the first half’s scoring.

Also contributing in the win were Burnaby Lake’s Michael O’Toole, the Bears’ captain, and Bryce Worden.

Playing before a large and appreciative home crowd set a perfect scene for the big win, O’Toole said.

“It was great. They really energized us, especially in the second half,” said O’Toole.
