Drivers are still not getting the message about the importance of clearing your vehicle of snow before heading out on the road.

Delta police reported this morning that officers Wednesday night gave a driver the choice of a violation ticket ($109 and three points for drive while view obstructed), or scraping his windows clean.

“He happily chose the latter, though he did need to borrow the officer's window scraper,” said DPD on its Facebook page. “Please make sure you remove the snow thoroughly from your vehicle before driving. Seconds count when driving, and you need that time to react to potential hazards (cars sliding around) or to avoid hitting that person at the crosswalk.

“Plus the driver's behind you will appreciate you clearing the snow from your roof, so it doesn't fly into their windshield.”
