Second B&E at Gibsons Landing Trading Post

Sunshine Coast RCMP are investigating the second break-in and theft at the Gibsons Landing Trading post in the past two months.

According to an Oct. 26 release, RCMP were notified of the second break-in around 8 a.m. Saturday morning. RCMP said the break-in could have happened any time between 5 p.m. on Oct 22 and when it was discovered the following morning.

Vintage watches worth between about $8,000 and $25,000 were stolen from one of the businesses at the Trading Post at 292 Gower Point Rd.

RCMP are asking anyone with surveillance cameras in the area that may have captured suspicious persons coming or going from the store to contact police and reference file 2020-7442.

The previous break-in happened on Aug. 27, when approximately $20,000 in jewelry, collectible coins and antique pocket watches were stolen.

That incident is still under investigation and RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact them and reference file 2020-5991.
