Nominations are now open for the Business Excellence Awards Sunshine Coast (BEASC). The awards celebrate outstanding business successes on the Southern Sunshine Coast and are hosted by the Sechelt, Gibsons, and Pender Harbour Chambers of Commerce.

Nominations are now open for the Business Excellence Awards Sunshine Coast (BEASC).

The awards celebrate outstanding business successes on the Southern Sunshine Coast and are hosted by the Sechelt, Gibsons, and Pender Harbour Chambers of Commerce.

The 10 award categories are:

• Sustainability Leader Award: Recognizes a business that operates in an environmentally responsible manner.

• Community Impact Award: Recognizes a business that demonstrates exemplary dedication to the people of the Sunshine Coast.

• Young Entrepreneur Award: Recognizes a Sunshine Coast resident who is under 40 and their business has been operating for less than three years.

• Outstanding Workplace of the Year Award: Recognizes a local business that demonstrates a commitment to a healthy work environment.

• Female Entrepreneur Award: Recognizes an exceptional woman in business on the Sunshine Coast.

• Legacy Award: Recognizes a business that has operated for more than 20 years on the Sunshine Coast.

• Innovation Award: Recog-nizes a business that has used technology to create a business concept that is new or unique.

• Business of the Year Award (less than three employees).

• Business of the Year Award (three to 15 employees).

• Business of the Year Award (16+ employees).

This year’s awards will be presented at a gala ceremony on Friday, Feb. 28 at the Blue Ocean Golf Course in Sechelt. All nominees will be formally recognized at the gala and the winners of each category will receive a hand-carved plaque by local Métis artist John Lloyd Howley.

The event is sponsored by the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Organization and presented by the Sunshine Coast Credit Union / Co-Operators.
